We are looking to appoint a well experienced technician for our busy 20 ramp workshop based in Swinton, Manchester. Diagnostic Technician Requirements
- Meticulous and methodical/process driven with high attention to detail
- IT and admin savvy
- A natural problem solver focused on the right outcome
- NVQ Level 3 and/or BTEC National (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Technology
- Personal drive and determination to succeed with a mature outlook
- A confident and professional communicator
- Knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and systems
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Vehicle Technician role
- Excellent customer service skills
- Full clean UK driving license
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and diagnose required work to the highest standard
- Calculate expected time and cost of vehicle work
- Perform a mix of technical and customer facing duties, including discussing repairs with customers
- Repair or replace components as required
- Carry out all work completely and effectively whilst adhering to manufacturer’s requirements
- Road test vehicles to test repair work
- Fit and service vehicle accessories, including immobilisers, alarms and stereos
- Effectively record details of diagnosis, work completed, and components utilised in line with manufacturer standards
- Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity, good workshop organisation and workplace safety
- Work independently and as part of the team
- Be aware of the importance and implication of maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and work to ensure they are met at all times
