Motorsave also rely on the legitimate interests lawful basis to contact you about important safety and quality issues relating to your vehicle and to remind you about service and MOT due dates. This is important to help ensure that you comply with legal requirements and also maintain the quality of your vehicle. We may, if necessary, also use your information to defend our legal rights or to obtain legal advice and to manage any complaint that you might have. We ensure that your rights and interests are protected when we do this.

Consent

We are permitted to use your personal data when you give us your consent to do so. We will only use your personal data to contact you for direct marketing purposes if you give us your consent. Performance of a contract

Where we have made contractual commitments to you or you have made the same to us. If you do not provide the personal data we require, we will not be able to provide the services to you.

4. WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH

  • A prospective purchaser of our business. If we sell or buy any business or assets, we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer. We may also be required to share personal information in order to comply with a regulatory or legal process.
  • Vehicle manufacturers – we may pass your personal information to the relevant brands relating to your vehicle. 5. HOW LONG WE WILL KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR

We will keep your personal information for as long as we need it to provide the services and products you request from us. We may also keep it to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve complaints and to enforce our rights. As a result, the length of time that we keep your information for will vary depending on the purposes for which we have it. 8. CCTV

Motorsave uses CCTV to protect company owned property and to provide a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors to our premises. We have a legitimate interest to collect personal information via CCTV recordings for the following purposes:

  1. Identification and prosecution of offenders.
  2. Monitoring the security of our premises.
  3. Ensuring that health and safety rules and our company procedures are being complied with.

We will disclose CCTV recordings to third parties where reasonably necessary for the above purposes.

All recordings are retained for a maximum of up to 90 days. Recordings may be retained for longer where Motorsave has an overriding legitimate interest (e.g. as part of an investigation) or there is a legal obligation (e.g. criminal offence).

You have the right to request that we do not send marketing material to you, and you can do this at any time by:
