Here’s our checklist to make sure you know what good vehicle care looks like:
- Service your vehicle regularly – the best guarantee for a reliable vehicle
- Change oil regularly for good lubrication which reduces the amount of heat produced by the engine
- Keep an eye on your tyres for wear and tear as well as having the correct air pressure. This helps extend the life of your tyres, improves vehicle safety, and supports fuel efficiency
- Check your battery. If your vehicle struggles to start, dashboard lights come on and hot or cold weather effects the vehicle, it could be your battery. You don’t want your battery to leave you stranded somewhere
- Replace worn brake pads. As they wear thin, they become less effective and can cause a multitude of problems as well as safety issues
- Replace the air filter. Dirty or damaged filters reduce engine air flow which can pollute spark plugs, in turn this impacts the engine
- Check vehicle hoses and belts to keep your vehicle running safely and efficiently, otherwise you could end up with an overheated engine, loss of power steering or electrical failures
- Replace old spark plugs to save you from costly repairs. Old spark plugs can misfire and put stress on the vehicle’s catalytic converter (the engine’s exhaust cleaner).
